John Koensgen

John is thrilled to be a member of the inaugural Third Wall Acting Company. He has performed in or directed well over 100 shows during his career. His most recent appearances were in Facts and Heroes at GCTC and Educating Rita for Arts Court Theatre. Last year he was in The Net at GCTC, Bison Mystique for Le Théâtre la Catapulte, and The Taming of the Shrew and Measure for Measure with The St. Lawrence Shakespeare Festival. In the fall he appeared in The Gladstone Theatre’s Noises Off and reprised Bison Mystique during the Festival Zone Théâtrale. He then directed The Final Twist for The Gladstone Theatre. John was selected as a member of the new English Theatre Acting Company at the National Arts Centre and appeared in A Christmas Carol and Mother Courage and Her Children, the latter remounted at The Manitoba Theatre Centre.  Upon returning in March he was fight director for Opera Lyra’s Macbeth. He was also a member of the Stratford Shakespeare Festival Acting Company where he appeared in Pentecost, Othello, and Of Mice and Men.
