Mary Ellis

Mary has worked extensively as an actor in Ottawa for many years. She was last seen in Italian American Reconciliation at the Gladstone Theatre. Other recent credits include Doubt, at the Gladstone, for which she received a Rideau Award nomination, The Ark with the NAC, a staged reading of The Year of the Flood with Margaret Atwood, and Coma Unplugged at GCTC. Mary has also appeared in Tennessee Williams’ Confessional (Chamber Theatre at the Carleton Tavern), Top Girls (Third Wall Theatre), The Domino Heart (New Theatre of Ottawa), and Life X 3, Relative Good, Girl in the Goldfish Bowl and Problem Child (all at GCTC). Mary also teaches at the Ottawa Theatre School, at St. Lawrence College in Brockville, and at Algonquin College, where she has directed a number of shows, including George F. Walker’s Better Living and Ibsen’s Hedda Gabler. She also recently directed students from the Ottawa Theatre School in Impassioned Embraces at the Ottawa Fringe Festival. Mary is delighted to have the opportunity to work with this wonderful group of artists.
Mary will direct Blackbird and appear in Exit The King.
